![]() The bear there being I am on a minimal phone plan so data for the house phones is next to nothing so wifi is key around here.Įdit - a couple and change hours with no issues seeming to come up directly connected (I was playing GTA V so I would have thought a drop would have nuked my gameplay).Įdit edit - I now have the ISP monitoring the line for the next three days. If I never get a trouble surfing directly, that would point back to the router. ![]() If I run into trouble directly, that means its likely the ISP. Only thing I can do now is keep surfing/using and see if I get a drop with a direction connection (as I no longer have an orange light to give me the answer) - and if I sense one, to go to a speedtest and see if I am indeed having trouble. Alas, it took a long time for the 'indentifying' stage to get done and me to have the ability to hit the 'connect' setup to get back to the internet but internet is fine.at the moment. Orange light was on and for a bit so I quickly yanked the line from the modem to the wifi router out, plugged in a new cable and quickly ran it over and replaced the connection into the new ethernet card (basically, set up a ppoe I guess). This might be caused by DSL line problems. The Internet light turning orange, coupled with the incredibly brief log snippet you posted, makes me inclined to think it's a PPP problem of some sort. That still kinda points to router I would think for that issue would you not say? The orange light of doom problem is yet another ball of wax I am thinking. So, it seems the limited problem is not just limited (see what I did there ) to my notebook. CARDMINDER CHROME UPDATEBlue again now having just typed that sentence.Įdit - and an update my wife's computer was hit with 'limited' on the guest account just now while I was fine (and I had just been upstairs and there was no orange light and the speeds were a 19ms ping a 5.1MB/s download. Of course, the second the line test stopped I went back to blue (good). I got orange light of doom and this time was able to get all the way connected to the ISP and have their automated line test run. (2) replace the filter and see if it helps ![]() ![]() (1) double check you've got the DSL modem plugged into the DSL modem slot and the phone plugged into the phone slot on that "splitter" (filter). ![]()
